Pickles tests have come back..her tests indicate she indeed has an immune issue..
Dr Liz consulted with Dr Rayya and after we had a chat we have agreed that while Pickles is happy and well eating and content we are not doing any further bloods..if she becomes symptomatic we will be straight back for further testing.
We are starting her on L-Lysine as we did with Merlin when he was diagnosed with FIV ..
Dr Liz has said that she doubts very much it is Feline Infectious Peritonitis simply because of her age..and there are no real definitive tests for this and it is incurable. It may be Feline Herpes in which case the L-Lysine will be of benefit..it could also be FIV..we have lived through this with our dearly missed Merlin and know the outcome also..so as you can see putting her through further tests at this time will not change any outcomes.
The chances are that as a kitten in a hoarding situation she has been handed this legacy..another unseen side to the horror of hoarding..
Clearly we are shattered that our sweet girl may develop at anytime symptoms of her illness..until then we are just loving her like we always have..we cannot do anything else. We will be watching for the signs and acting as soon as we see anything untoward…she may be asymptomatic for a long time ..
While you are here also please spare a thought for Speedy who is unwell at this time…we all hope he is ready to be back to his binking self soon..and hugs to Miss Rachel at this tough time..
And pop over to Savvy’s and see the big unveil!!
